Milton Primary Suite + Teen Bedroom
Milton, MA
After living on the West Coast for several years, these clients decided to return home to Massachusetts to raise their children closer to family. They purchased a home sight unseen due to distance and early Pandemic restrictions. The project ended up becoming a major overhaul, with careful attention to historical details. On the couple’s wish list was a serene retreat for their Primary bedroom and bath.
Textured tile with a crackle finish in the bath sets the blue-green color scheme for the entire suite. The walnut wood floating vanity topped with a honed limestone counter brings in natural earthy elements.
A small bedroom next to the bath was converted into a dressing room including custom cabinetry closets and drawers. To glam up the space even further, Barbara added distinctive wallpaper, a velvet pouf plus a coordinating pull-out ottoman for the makeup station.
Completing the suite, the Primary bedroom is centered around the king bed upholstered in a tone-on-tone Indian paisley fabric. The beautiful blue/green colors are picked up in other items in the room, such as the deep teal nightstands, the soft blue velvet swivel chairs, the faded damask wool and silk rug and floral-patterned drapery. The couple’s own lamps coordinate with the design perfectly.
The teen bedroom had to reflect the son’s gravitation towards warmer tones and restful neutrals. Navy, sage green and reds and oranges came together nicely in this room, as did the beautiful geometry of the shower cement tile.
